How are Orthopedics different at Big Oak PT?

Many clinics use Orthopedic Physical Therapy interchangeably for Physical Therapy for General Conditions, but this is incorrect. Orthopedic PT is a highly specialized area of Physical Therapy that treats pathology of dysfunction in the muscles, joints, tendons, or ligaments.

What is Board Certification?

Board Certification is a rigorous process of education, clinical experience, and testing that culminates in Specialist Designations such as OCS. This certification is through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties and is widely regarded as one of the highest possible designations available for a clinician. Dr. Carlton, who leads our Orthopedic Program, is the only Physical Therapist in Thomasville who has attained Board Certification as a Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy.
